Lee County -- State Representative Ed Rynders will represent Southwest Georgia at the Republican National Convention.
Rynders, who represents District 137, was chosen by the party as an alternate delegate. This region is sending 6 delegates, and Rynders is the only elected official in the group.
"We think that it will be an opportunity to build contacts at the state level and the national level which may bring services to Southwest Georgia in the future," said Rynders.
The Republican Convention kicks off August 30th in New York.
