Albany- Check twenty-one, a new law signed by President Bush last year, will go into effect October twenty-eighth.

The new policy will eventually process checks in a day or so and will change the way bank customers keep track of their expenditures.

Luke Flatt with Regions Bank explains "Those checks will be processed through the bank in the form of images. In other words, the original checks will cease to exist and be destroyed at the point at which it is deposited.

The sole purpose of this new act is to allow for banks to accept replacement documents for original checks.
