United Way kicks off new campaign

August 20, 2004

Valdosta - A South Georgia chapter of the United Way kicks off a new year of fundraising.

The United Way of Lowndes county started its 2004-2005 campaign Friday. This year's theme is "50 years of changing local lives, one year at a time."

They hope to raise 1.2 million dollars between now and the end of November. "We believe its a reasonable but stretched goal, in the past two years we've just raised a little over a million dollars and we're really trying to raise as much as possible to meet the needs of our agencies," said Nicole Holder, Executive Director.

The United Way of Lowndes County serves 117 programs in 27 different agencies.
