Mary Love Gissendaner, 95, formerly of Albany, died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 4:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors, with entombment to follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum, with Dr. Michael C. Catt officiating.

A native of Sylvester, Mrs. Gissendaner had lived most of her life in Albany, where she was a charter member of Sherwood Baptist Church.  She graduated from Bessie Tift College, and worked as a bookkeeper with Bain Peanut Company. 

Mrs. Gissendaner was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Bill" Gissendaner, Sr.  Mrs. Gissendaner is survived by two sons: William E. "Bill" Gissendaner, Jr. and his wife Betty of Suwanee, and Douglas M. Gissendaner and his wife Sue of Buford; a daughter, Kay Gissendaner Roll of Italy; a brother, Charles Manning of Arlington; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
