New business victim of heavy equipment theft

Turner County -- Crooks are causing a new Turner County business to get off to a rocky start. The Phoenix Wood Company has been open for only 6 months, but it's already lost more than 40,000 worth of equipment to thieves. In the last heist, thieves stole two heavy duty fork lifts.

"No unfortunately we did not expect this, but I think we can get through it. We are taking the proper procedure to ensure that this not happen again," says plant manager Russell Barbee.

The company says although the theft was a setback, they plan to move on with operations. If you have any information about the theft, please call the Turner County Sheriff's Department.
