South Carolina police chief reviewing APD

August 18, 2004

Albany - A South Carolina police chief will help determine if Albany's police chief violated hiring policies. Spartanburg Chief Tony Fisher will serve on a 3 person panel to review APD hiring policies and to determine if the police chief violated those policies when he hired officer Melissa Albritten, who was recently arrested for shoplifting.

Fisher will arrive in Albany next week and join the city attorney and human resources director on the panel. The panel will make recommendations by September 3, 2004.
