Child vaccinations reach record high

August 15, 2004

Albany- According to the Center for Disease Control, last year 79% of the nation's toddlers got their required vaccinations on time.

That's up from less than 75% in 2002. Even with the immunization rates rising, the CDC says there are about one million children who haven't gotten their full series of shots.

The newest challenge is the flu vaccine which is now recommended for babies and toddlers six months to 23 months old.
