Albany - The season opener is still two weeks away but today the Albany State football team got their first look at their new home Friday afternoon.
The Golden Rams taking a break from fall camp for their annual picture day festivties that this year took place at the Albany Municipal Coliseum.
While work continues on the fieldhouse, the players were smiling for the cameras and taking their first steps on the Coliseum turf.
The Golden Rams can't wait until they get to run onto this field in two weeks against Miles College and today's sneak preview will only add to the anticipation towards the historic first game.
Quarterback Uyl Joyner said "Ready to play and see what is going to be like when we get in here with a crowd and the band playing. I am just ready to see what it is going to feel like to play in our home stadium."
Defensive end Walter Curry said "We got our own house to defend, just like your own home you live in, there is nothing like your own."
Head coach Mike White hopes his team can practice in their new stadium before their season opener in two weeks.
Coach White says that will be determined by final stages of construction.
