    Ravi Mikel Givens was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He is being held in the Dougherty County jail. Givens, who played ball at Westover and Stetson
    Agents say that police responded to the apartment because of a burglar alarm. Officers found the back door broken open and went inside. That's where they detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw pot in plain view.

Tifton--The president of a south Georgia college is resigning to take a job with the state. Tonight, ABAC President Mike Vollmer notified the faculty by e-mail that he decided today to become the Commissioner of the Department of Technical and Adult Education. Governor Perdue asked Vollmer to lead the department that oversees Georgia's technical colleges.  Vollmer led the Tifton college through a period of rapid change and growth over the last three years.
