Albany -- Merck and Company dove into the Flint RiverQuarium sponsorship Thursday.

Merck's Albany plant donated 100-thousand dollars to the Flint RiverQuarium. They will sponsor the Blue Hole Viewing and the Orientation Experience hall.

Albany Merck Plant Manager Randy Hall said "The RiverQuarium contributes toward the same kind of things Merck is interested in. Science education, energy conservation. It also enriches the community experience for people who live here."

From the Blue Hole Viewing, you can see catfish, striped and large mouth bass, gar, shad, and carp species native to the Flint River.

The Flint RiverQuarium is scheduled to open Labor Day Weekend.
