Valdosta - It was a tight race for Lowndes County's District two commission seat.

Incumbent Richard Lee defeated Larry Rodgers 1077 votes to 982 in the Republican runoff.

Lee is seeking his third term on the commission. He says he's looking forward to leading the county as it undertakes several new expansion projects. "Of course the recreation park is really exciting to me up in the Hahira area, we've got a number of roads that are under construction and just ready to be let, and those are things that we're really glad are happening," said Lee.

Richard Lee will face Democrat John Rozar in the November election.
