Albany-- Albany State University's President says the school doesn't have enough faculty to handle the largest number of freshmen in ASU history.

The 620 faculty and staff members at Albany State met Tuesday morning, preparing for the coming year. A.S.U. expects more than 675 freshmen to enroll for fall semester.

Dr. Shields told the faculty to prepare for large numbers in their classes. "Our budget cuts and our inability to hire the number of faculty we need are going to leave our classes overcrowded."

The freshmen will begin moving into their dorms Wednesday morning. Classes begin at Albany State August 17th.
