Tift County- Nearly the entire back side of a 61 foot tall Magnolia tree caught fire Sunday afternoon. It's believed to be the second largest Magnolia tree in the country.

"Tift County Sheriff's office responded with us, and they are investigating a little further as we speak," says Tifton Fire Chief Mike Flippo.

The walkway built under the tree was also damaged by the fire. Fire officials do expect the tree to survive.
