Dumais family hopes to win gold on two continents

August 9, 2004

Moultrie - Brothers Troy and Justin Dumais are among the favorites to win the gold medal in synchronized diving at Summer Olympic games in Athens.

Their younger brother Dwight is hoping to bring home the gold this week at the Speedo junior national diving championships in Moultrie.

18-year old Dwight Dumais has qualified for the finals in all three events in the 16-18 division at this week's junior national championships.

Unfortunately, everyone else in his family is in Greece where older brothers Troy and Justin will compete in the 2004 summer Olympics.

Troy will not only dive with Justin in the sychro event, he will also compete the men's 3-meter competition.

Dwight wants nothing more than to follow his brothers and dive for the U.S. in the 2008 summer Olympics in China.

But after he competes in Moultrie this week, he is looking forward to going home and hopefully watching his brothers take the gold in Athens.

Dumais said "My brothers have a great chance in synchro 3-meter if they can put their dives together and I also have a good chance here of medalling."

Dwight Dumais is a senior in high school in Ventura, California and among the colleges he is considering signing with are Auburn, Texas and Stanford.
