Albany -- The American Cancer Society wants you to get checked for Polyps that may cause cancer.
The group is trying to spread to message about polyps that can be indicators of Colorectal cancer. Early detection is desperately needed especially among minorities.
"We are really trying to educate people about what a polyps is and how it is a precursor to cancer. If we can get them in there and get early detection, we a can do something about colon cancer," says Gail Roddie-Hamlin of the American Cancer Society.
Saturday, more than 80 volunteers and cancer survivors gathered in Albany to learn how to spread information about cancer and cancer prevention to the public.
