Margaret P. Smith, 89, of Albany, died August 5, 2004 at Palmyra Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, at 10:00 AM at Kimbrell-Stern Chapel, and interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Scott Hagan will officiate.
A native of Alabama, Mrs. Smith lived in Albany most of her life. She was a homemaker who adored her children and grandchildren, and she was loved greatly by them in return. She was member of First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and a member of the Fellowship Sunday school class. She loved to travel, was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves, and a member of the Azalea Garden Club.
Survivors include: a son, Samuel E. "Sam" Smith (Linda) of Albany; a daughter, Margaret Virginia Smith Biermann (Bob) of Arlington TX; 5 grandchildren: Samuel S. "Sam" of Moultrie, David Bryan Smith of Albany, Steven Gerald Bass of Arlington TX, Kelly Michael Bass of Montgomery AL, and Rebeakah Lynn Smith of Arlington TX; a great-grandson, Taylor Jacob Smith of Albany; a brother, Billy Plemmons of Alabama; 2 sisters: Edna Earl Plemmmons Rogers of MS, and Mary John Plemmons Brix of Tiger, GA.
