Valdosta - The question of who will be the starting quarterback for Valdosta State this fall has apparently been answered on the first day of practice.
Americus' Fabian Walker got most of the work in the Blazers morning session in shorts and afterwards head coach Chris Hatcher says the Florida State transfer is more than likely going to be VSU's starting quarterback this year.
Walker is in his final year of eligibility while last year's starter Barrett Wilkes has two years remaining and coach Hatcher hopes that Wilkes will not lose a year of eligibility this year.
Chris Hatcher said "But right now it looks like we are probably going to go with Fabian and redshirt Wilkes to give us some good players down the line but we have got to find us a backup to do that."
The Blazers will practice pads for the first time on Monday.
Valdosta State's first game is still a month away when the play at Albany State on September 4th.
