Colquitt County - A poultry company that will bring 1,700 jobs to south Georgia will break ground soon.
Sanderson Farms will build on a field off Highway 133 in Colquitt County between Spence Field and the new fire station.
On Tuesday, the poultry company awarded a construction contract to Shoate Construction which is based in Marietta, Georgia.
They were the lowest bid at 28 million dollars.
Construction is expected to be finished in a year.
