Cordele -The owners of a popular South Georgia restaurant hope a highway project won't hurt their business.

Daphne Lodge Restaurant in Crisp County has been in business since 1947. It's on Highway 280 which the Department of Transportation will widen. Owner, Susu Burt says she's been told the project won't take out her business or others such as the Olde Inn Restaurant. "I think they're really sypathetic about and it is my understanding that they are really inclined to put the highway over onto the park land,"said Burt.

The D-O-T told WALB plans for the Highway 280 project are too preliminary to promise anything.
