Americus-- A Sumter County man is found dead in a backyard pond.  He appears to have drowned.

The man's name is unknown at this time, but Sheriff Bob Ingle says he was found off Brady Road around 9:15 Sunday night.

The man was floating face down in a homemade pond.

No foul play is expected. An autopsy is being conducted.
