Americus-- A semi-pro football player is arrested, but is let out of jail in time to play.

26-year-old Michael Brad Volley was arrested on an outstanding Dougherty County warrant for a misdemeanor battery charge Friday outside his child's school.

Volley, a South Georgia Stars quarterback, was transferred to Dougherty County Jail, but was released in time to play against Birmingham, where he helped lead his team to victory.

South Georgia Stars is an Americus based semi-professional football team.

The head football coach says a decision will be made at a Monday night meeting to decide Volley's fate on the team.
