Albany Police host National Night Out

August 2, 2004

Albany-- Tuesday night Albany Police will take part in the 21st annual National Night out. Five block parties are scheduled around Albany.

You're asked to turn on your porch lights at dusk, and join your neighbors to show unity in fighting crime and drug use.

Lt. Kenn Singleton of the Albany Police said "It's also gives the citizens who have neighborhood watch programs the opportunity to share information about what works in their neighborhood and what hasn't worked."

More than 34 million people in all fifty states and Canada took part in National Night Out last year, and organizers hope even more will take part Tuesday.
