Ben Hill County- 26 year old Hellinthia White, of Fitzgerald, was headed South on Georgia Highway 90 in Ben Hill County Friday afternoon when her Ford Expedition ran off the road and struck a tree head-on.

White, 3 other adults, and a 17 year old riding in the SUV were transported to Dorminey Medical Center for minor injuries.

They were all wearing seatbelts, but state troopers say the infant riding in the Expedition, four month old Jakyan Holcomb, was not restrained in a child safety seat.

They say Holcomb was sitting on the lap of one of the other passengers and did not survive the crash.

Charges are still pending the outcome of the investigation.
