Douglas-- The City of Douglas has received a big award for developing downtown.
Douglas was awarded the National Main Street Accredition for the city's work in historic preservation and economic development of downtown.
"I think the number one reason we received the award this year was because we were able to gather a lot community support behind development ," says Niki Knox Main Street Manager for the city of Douglas
Douglas is one of more than 600 cities in the U-S that earned the recognition.
