Lowndes County - A horse has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis, known as sleeping sickness.
The horse was found in the southern end of Lowndes county on Briggston Road. It died just two days after showing symptoms of the disease.
Lowndes County Commissioners have authorized target spraying within a two mile area of where the horse was located.
