Americus - Southland Academy has promoted Clarence "Bobo" Short to head baseball coach.

Short, who has been an assistant for the state champion Raiders the past four years, replaces Billy Nicholson who is now the head coach at Centennial High.

"Bobo" Short will also coach the Southland girls softball team.
