Thomasville - The city of Thomasville denied Tallahassee NBC affiliate WTWC's request to take WALB off the cable system.

"In our opinion, there was no way that WTWC could prove that WALB was not significantly viewed," said Thomasville Mayor Rick Singletary.

WALB General Manager, Jim Wilcox, said had the city blacked out our signal it would have violated a re-transmission contract, FCC rules and copyright requirements.

The city also denied WTWC's request to move to cable position four on Thomasville's channel lineup, the spot currently held by WALB.
