Spartanburg, S.C. - Southern Conference coaches have picked Georgia Southern fullback Jermaine Austin as the preseason offensive player of the year.
Austin won that honor at the end of the 2003 season when he lead the Southern Confernce with more than 1400 yards.
Jermaine Austin, quarterback Chez Williams and defensive end Eric Hadley from Thomasville are among six Georgia Southern Eagles to who are first team preseason all conference picks.
Southern Conference coaches and media are picking Georgia Southern in separate polls to finish third this season behind Furman and Wofford.
Wofford running back Kevious Johnson from Fitzgerald is a preseason second team all-conference selection.
