Albany-- The East side of the Good Life City is in the spotlight as new businesses are moving in.

Northwest Albany has seen the boom in business in the last few years, and East Albany has felt left behind. A new nightclub located in the Millennium Mall on Radium Springs is under development right now.

But one city commissioner wants to see bigger investments in his part of the city. "I think that you know we are seeing a lot of the mom and pop business relocating to East Albany," said Ward 1 Commissioner Jon Howard. "But we certainly would like to have a large retail store in East Albany and it would serve to drive other business into East Albany."

Monday night, Commissioner Howard is hosting an economic development forum at the East Albany Community Center at 6:30. A UGA economic analyst, who surveyed the area, will present his suggestions.
