Principal Mims resigns

Fitzgerald- The Ben Hill County School Board accepted Fitzgerald High School Principal David Mims' resignation last night.

The State Professional Standards Commission revoked Mims teaching certificate earlier this month.

"We will provide a separation package which would give him two more months of pay. He will pay back all of the money that he owed," says Superintendent Dr. John Key.

Mims resignation is effective immediately. He and nine other Georgia educators are accused of is accused of purchasing phony on-line advanced degrees from St. Regis University in Liberia.
