Polls prepped for primaries

July 19, 2004

Albany- Workers were setting up the computer voting booths to get ready for Tuesday.

The polls open at 7 a.m. in the morning.

The only problem so far has been with Georgia oversees citizen ballots. They were mailed late, so a federal court told election offices to give more time for those ballots to arrive.

"So, the election will not be certified statewide until all the oversees citizens ballots have come back in," said Carolyn Hatcher, Dougherty County Elections Supervisor.

Voters need to make sure they pay attention to which ballot they choose tomorrow. People will pick between a Democratic, Republican or non-partisan ballot.
