Valdosta - Republican Senatorial candidate Johnny Isakson is making last minute campaign stops.

In Valdosta Monday, Isakson said an issue especially important to this area of the state is the tobacco buyout. "The senate has now agreed to a buyout, we're negotiating the final terms, we'll do it this year and it'll be great for Georgia tobacco farmers," said Isakson. "It will put an end to the program but buy them out equitably so they aren't left stranded like they would have been."

Isakson is running for the senate seat being vacated by Zell Miller. He's opposed in the Republican primary by Mac Collins and Herman Cain.
