Albany- Friends and supporters helped Dr. C.W. Grant kick off his re-election campaign Monday.

He has been on the Dougherty County School Board since 1999 and is the current chairman. He says he's worked to pump more than $57 million into the seven schools in his district alone, and he wants to continue to be a champion for the school system.

"I have 40 years of experience as an education administrator and my track record speaks for itself. There are untold number of students in this community and all throughout this country who came under Dean Grant at Albany State and they are the better for it today."

Dr. Grant will face businessman James Bush in the July 20th primary.
