Fatal wreck causes power outage

July 12, 2004

Cordele - A deadly crash on Highway 300 just north of Warwick Friday killed a Crisp County man. William Pridgen was turning onto his property when a tractor trailer slammed into the back of his Chevrolet pick-up.

Both vehicles skidded off the road hit a utility pole and brought down power lines. Pridgen died at the scene.

Power was out in about a fifteen mile radius of the crash. Most of that power has been restored. Pridgen was the father of Crisp County Superior Court Judge John Pridgen.

No charges have been filed yet.
