South Georgia town gets City of Ethics award

July 9, 2004

Remerton - A South Georgia town is recognized for its high morals and values.

Remerton received a City of Ethics award from the Georgia Municipal Association. The designation is based on a city's financial disclosures, conflicts of interests, and ethical principles. "I think it means that we all are obviously here to serve the people of the city and you can do that in many fashions but by getting a certified city of ethics it states that we are here and doing things, making decisions, moving forward in an ethical fashion," said Mayor Peggi Siefert.

One hundred and twenty-three Georgia cities are recognized at Cities of Ethics.
