Albany-- Quinton Jackson is charged with gunning down a man three weeks ago.
Sheriff's investigators stormed into a home on Staton Drive about 10:30 Tuesday morning, and caught Jackson sleeping. The home belongs to a relative.
Informants alerted Investigators that Jackson had just returned to Albany. Lt. Craig Dodd said "We believe he was here over the weekend."
Investigators say Jackson gunned down 29-year-old Jose King on Van Buren Street after an early morning fight. Police had been called to the neighborhood about the fight, but left. An hour later, King was shot dead.
The 5-foot-9, nearly 300-pound Jackson reportedly left Albany after the shooting and was hiding out in Hawkinsville. Dodd said "Last week we contacted the Sheriff's office in that county, and they went to the location. Somebody had been hiding in an empty trailer up there. They found evidence that somebody had been hiding there for several days."
Jackson is being held in the Dougherty County Jail, charged with murder.
Three people were arrested following King's murder for robbing his body while he lay on the street.
