Another downtown success

July 6, 2004

Albany--  The Independence Day Celebration was a success.

Business owners say that's good news for the future of downtown.

More than 20,000 people attended the fireworks display Sunday night.

Many took part in other activites downtown. With the completion of the Albany Riverquarium just months away, the draw of downtown this holiday weekend is a good sign.

Business owner, Bo Henry, of the Harvest Moon says, "I think downtown has already proved it will work, it is working now as it is. So, with all the things that are being added and the things coming in the future, I think that will only help."

More retail and other businesses will open downtown. The Riverquarium is scheduled to open in September.
