Quitman - Firefighters were called to the Family Dollar store in Quitman around 8PM Monday. By the time they arrived, the store was fully engulfed in flames.

The cloud of smoke could be seen in Thomasville, nearly 20 miles away. Firefighters fought to put the flames out, but they kept burning. Luckily no one was inside the store when the fire began, and no one was injured.

Lizzie Powell says Family Dollar was her favorite store. "Oh, I think it's a heartbreaker because this is my store and I always loved it and I always shopped here," she said.

The state fire Marshall will be in Quitman Tuesday to try to determine what exactly caused the fire.
