ASU gets science grant

July 4, 2004

Albany -- Albany State University gets some big support in their effort to draw more minorities into careers in Science and Math. The National Science Foundation awarded the school a 2.5 million dollar grant to support their "Pull-Strengthen-Push Program."

The program targets minority students as young as ninth grade to enter fields such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The Foundation's grant will help increase the size of the program and help train faculty in new techniques to simulate student interest in science.
