Hole in the Wall Gang strikes again

June 29, 2004

Moultrie - The Hole in the Wall Gang strikes again. Now, investigators have captured another picture of the people they believe are banging their way into businesses.

Two men were caught on surveillance around 6:30 Friday morning, buying a grinder blade at Walmart.

The blade may be connected to a Friday burglary at Quik Mart in Moultrie. A blade, still in its package, was left behind along with an extension cord. The bar code led investigators to Walmart.

Investigators believe the burglars planned to use the grinder to open a stolen safe, but police found it four miles away before the criminals returned with the blade.

In April, a sledgehammer receipt left at a Thomasville hole in the wall burglary led police to the Moultrie Walmart. One man was caught on tape buying the tool.

Also, around three Monday morning, the Best Little Food Store in Georgia in Moultrie was also broken into with a sledgehammer.

The alarm went off and nothing was stolen.

If you have any information, call Moultrie Police Department.
