Dougherty County- For more than 50 years the Marine Corps Logistics Base and the Chamber of Commerce have worked together to create jobs and bring more industry to the area.

Friday, Base Commander Colonel Joseph Wingard and Chamber President Tim Martin signed a Memorandum of Understanding formalizing the relationship between the two entities and outlining their common goals of community growth and industrial expansion.

"Also, this formalizes that fact that we will work together to ensure encroachment problems don't come up from industry type things that might be not thought about if we didn't have this type relationship," says Wingard.

"In the future what this means is a stronger partnership and more jobs for our community," adds Martin.

Martin also says the written agreement will ensure the future of the Chamber's relationship with the base even if their is a change in the leadership at MCLB.
