Valdosta - South Georgia Medical Center underwent and passed re-accreditation with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
The five-day assessment focused on a new methodology that tracked and evaluated the patient. Everything from patient safety to treatment received was evaluated.
"Procedures, competency of the staff, competency of the physicians, quality of care delivered and overall effectiveness of the hospitals ability to deliver that care, " said Randy Sauls, Chief Operating Officer of South Georgia Medical Center.
The hospital met all of the 1,500 standards required for re-accreditation.
