Judge candidate in Albany

June 21, 2004

Albany- On the July 20th, you'll decide who should sit on Georgia's Supreme Court.

It's a non-partisan election, but candidate Grant Brantley wants to make sure you know he's a Republican. The former Superior court judge in Cobb County campaigned in Albany Monday night. He says too many state supreme courts seem to be legislating.

"Our Supreme Court seems to be doing some of that themselves," Brantley said. "I don't think that's what a justice should do. I think the justice should interpret the law as it is. Not as they want it to be."

Brantley is challenging current Justice Leah Sears. Even though it's a non-partisan race, it will be decided during the July primary election.
