Albany -- If you plan to go downtown to enjoy Albany's annual 4th of July Fireworks show expect big changes this year. The city is building a golf course at Festival Park so the holiday event will be moved from there to the rear parking lot of the Civic Center.

"The parking will be at the back of the Civic Center. We have made arrangements for the city to open up some parking garages for the public to park," says Dale Henry of Albany City Hall.

Organizers expect more 25,000 people at the event and parking will be limited.

Public parking will be available along Pine Avenue, North Washington and West Board Ave. A part of Front Street will be closed during the entire event.
