Valdosta - South Georgians spent the week giving the gift of life.

Friday wrapped up blood donation week in Valdosta. A drive at the Senior Citizens Center collected 24 pints of blood and one at Moody Air Force Base collected 62.

Red Cross workers say this week was a big help in restocking their inventory. "We've had a fairly steady week, not quiet as strong as we would've like to have had but we've had a fairly steady week with blood coming in," said Dallas.

The Red Cross is still low on donations from people with O and B blood types.
