Valdosta - Valdosta State head coach Chris Hatcher has coached NFL quarterbacks Duante Culpeper and Tim Couch when they were in college and his expertise at the position is starting to get noticed.
More than 130 quarterbacks, the largest turnout ever, have enrolled for coach Hatcher's annual quarterback school at Valdosta State.
Hatcher's quarterback school not only includes drills on the field but the high school players learn how to read coverages watching actual game video.
With so many offense, Chris Hatcher believes the most important thing to teach his pupils at his school are the basic fundamentals of playing the toughest position on the football field.
Chris Hatcher "We just teach the base stuff and basically we try to give them as much information in five practices as they can handle and it is their job to go back to their respective high schools and work on the things they learned here at camp to be a championship quarterback."
The Chris Hatcher quarterback school will end on Friday followed by the Blazers annual passing league on Saturday which will have 32 high school teams.
The Valdosta State camp for all positions is Sunday through Tuesday.
