South Georgians updated on legislative session

June 17, 20041

Valdosta - South Georgians say they're paying too much for health insurance.

Health care costs and tort reform were the hot topics at the Valdosta's annual legislative overview Thursday. Guest Speaker Earl Rogers of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce says this state is behind when it comes to tort reform. "As other states around us pass these reforms and their business climate becomes more competitive, we lose our competitive edge," said Rogers.

The legislative overview is hosted by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce each year to update local business leaders on the successes and failures of the legislative session.
