Valdosta - A South Georgia chamber of commerce is among the best in the nation.

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce received a four star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Only 26 other chambers in the country have the recognition, and only five have a five star accreditation.

"This puts us in the top one percent of chambers in the U.S. if you look at the accrediting process," said Jud Rackley, Chamber of Commerce Chairman.

The accreditation comes every five years and is based on a chamber's various programs and overall performance.
