Valdosta- In the aftermath of the baseball draft, scouts are busy signing all of those prospects that were picked on Monday and Tuesday.
Former Lowndes high standout Zane Green has signed with the Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs took Green in the 44th round even though he was a reserve player for Clemson this season.
Green will begin his career with the Cubs rookie league team in Mesa Arizona.
Green had been a starter for most of his first three seasons at Clemson and had career 300 average before his senior season.
Zane Green is the 4th player drafted off the 2000 state champion Lowndes High baseball team.
The others are Stephen Drew, #1 pick of Arizona this year, Jevon Moran and Luke Taylor.
