Thomasville - The idea is to improve the appearance of the city at its entry points.
City Planner Jon Sewell says, "What it does is it provides a set of guidelines and standards for new development or redevelopment in those corridors. An existing business will not be effected, they will not be asked to comply with the new zoning codes, the only change for them would be, if anything were redeveloped substantially in the future they would have to comply with the new zoning code."
The proposal will go to city council on July 12th for consideration. A meeting is being held at the Thomasville Chamber of Commerce Thursday at 7 PM to get input from business owners and other community members.
